Where our name comes from: Mayólica (majolica) is the traditional tin-glazed ceramic technique – the blue-and-white painted tiles Manises is famous for, and the same craft you will see throughout our house. Casa Mayolica takes its name from it. Read more about the technique on Wikipedia.
In the press: Renfe’s Club magazine featured Casa Mayolica and Manises in its section Merece un viaje — read the story in our blog post.
A House With a Story Since 1872
Casa Mayolica began life in 1872 as an alfarería — a traditional ceramic workshop in Manises, the city that has made ceramics for over seven centuries. Master ceramists lived here, worked here and raised their families here. The original mayolica tiles they painted by hand still cover our floors and walls, their cobalt blues and honey yellows as vibrant as the day they were fired.
Today we open the doors of that same house to guests. Sleep surrounded by ceramic artistry, breakfast in a jasmine-scented patio, and wake beneath original wooden beams — with every modern comfort quietly woven in.

Lace-dressed tables, vaulted ceilings and walls of hand-painted ceramic: the rooms where our ceramists once lived are now the rooms our guests wake up in.
